 Materials/Hauling
(Aggregate Hauling Division)
Mobile Concrete has a fleet of
tractor trailers with which we haul our aggregates and cement to our plants.
While the primary mission of this division is to keep materials at the required
levels for the plants to operate, we do sell and will deliver some of the
materials. Phelisha Dyal Williams supervises this division and is the point of
contact for pricing information or to set up and schedule a delivery. You can
reach her at (912) 427-2330.
Materials:
Sand:
We use #10 sand in concrete and have it "on the ground" at all of our
plants. We also offer masonry sand and sand screenings.
Rock:
The most common sizes of rock used in concrete are
#57, #67 and #89 (the higher the number, the smaller the rock). We use
granite or limestone in concrete and have a supply of some of each at our
plants. We are a supplier of many other sizes of rocks (in both limestone
and granite), including, but not
limited to, #4's, riprap and gabc ("crush
'n run" basing).
Expansion Joints:
We are a distributor of metal expansion joints
for Zambetti. Joints and stakes are usually available at our Jesup and
Glennville plants. We will happily make what you need available at our other
locations if you will call ahead of time. NOTE: Temporarily
unavailable.

Washout:
Washout is refuge concrete that is returned to the
plant. It is diluted with water and poured out in a holding area, then moved
to a pile when dry. The most
common use for washout is hole filler and surfacing on dirt drives/lanes. We try to keep
the hard chunks to a minimum (and most chunks will easily break up), but we
cannot guarantee it will be chunk free.
EZ Base™:
EZ Base™ (aka "poor man's concrete") is a by-product of
combustion turbine electric generation. EZ Base™ is a cost effective
alternative to
gabc and can even be used for slab and driveway surface application if
properly placed. We are a distributor of EZ Base™. Because it is hauled out
of Jacksonville, EZ Base™ is only sold in complete truckload (24-25 ton)
quantities.
The table below shows the
usual on-hand inventory by plant. Having a product on-hand means you can
come in and pickup the material without calling ahead (unless you need a
large quantity).

Trucking/Hauling:
Our dump trucks are all semi's with
trailers 30 to 40 feet in length. They can haul around 24 - 25 tons of material
(about 18 cubic yards). As they are tractor trailers, we are somewhat limited in
where we can deliver. If you wish to have us deliver rock or sand to you,
please keep this in mind. The site will have be level and one that a tractor
trailer can access; supporting close to 80,000 pounds, with room to swing and
about 40 feet of overhead clearance (to allow the bed to rise when dumping). If
your site will not accommodate our trucks, there are several hauling contractors
in the area with straight tandem dump trucks.
Delivery:
We require a 10 ton minimum
on materials we deliver. Delivery charges do apply and are usually charged
on a per ton basis based on distance hauled. There is no minimum if you (or someone contracted
by you) pick the material up.
